Within twelve years the Royals had gone from a section of Turnverein 1872 Saarlouis to the most successful women's side in German basketball, taking the DBBL championship in 2009 and 2010. The cup followed the same pattern: won in 2008, 2009 and 2010, then again in 2025.

Between those titles came a collapse. The club finished bottom of the 1. DBBL in 2012 and dropped into the second division. The Royals identity stayed with it regardless.

The rivalry with TSV 1880 Wasserburg belongs mostly to the championship years. Of the players who won them, Celeste Trahan-Davis is the name still attached to that era, while the current squad carries German internationals Emma Eichmeyer , Jessika Schiffer and Emily Bessoir .
