Benfica Lisbon Women

In the 2021–22 season Benfica became the first team in the history of Portuguese women's basketball to win all four national trophies in a single campaign: the league, the Taça de Portugal, the Supertaça and the Taça Federação. The league title alone has returned to Lisbon in 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025, including a 61-42 final win over GDESSA Barreiro in 2024.

The basketball department at Sport Lisboa e Benfica goes back to 1927, and it was Benfica that brought women's basketball to Portugal in 1933. The section competing under that name today, however, only began in the 2010s after the earlier one had lapsed; the 2025–26 season is its eighth since that restart.

Eugénio Rodrigues coached the team from 2019 until June 2026 and oversaw most of the recent run of titles before Ricardo Vasconcelos took over the following month.

The derby with Sporting CP, known locally as the Clássico or the Derby de Lisboa, still outweighs anything else on the calendar, with GDESSA Barreiro and CAB Madeira as the sharper recent rivals on the court itself. Benfica took its first step outside Portugal in 2022–23, entering the FIBA EuroCup Women and finishing top of its group.

The team plays in the Pavilhão Fidelidade, also known as Pavilhão da Luz Nº 1, a 2,456-seat hall standing in the shadow of the football stadium.
