Uniao Sportiva Women

In the 2015/16 season União Sportiva entered five competitions and won four of them. One was the Taça de Portugal, the club's first, taken with a 74-51 win over Olivais de Coimbra. The women had already won the national league in 2015, and they won it again in 2016.

The side behind those results is from Ponta Delgada, on São Miguel in the Azores. It plays in the Pavilhão Sidónio Serpa, a hall that holds 100 spectators.

Basketball came late to a club that was already old. In 1921 a group of commerce employees started it as União Sportiva dos Empregados do Comércio. It then became Delegation No. 15 of Sporting Clube de Portugal and took its present name on 11 August 1922. Roller hockey came before basketball. The hockey team won the Azores championship nine years running, from 1954/55 to 1963/64. The football side collected six São Miguel titles and one Azores title. A fire in the 1980s destroyed much of the club's historical legacy.

Green and white are the colours, and "the greens" is what the club is called on the island. SL Benfica is the main rival in women's basketball.

The current squad for 2025-26 includes Isabelle "Bella" Nascimento.
