Jonas Jerebko came up through the club in Kinna before he became the first Swede to play in the NBA. The women's section has produced players of its own: Leah Metcalf was named the best guard in the Damligan for the 2008–2009 season while playing for the club.

The club started out in 1970 as BK Kinna, then took the name Marbo Basket once its playing pool widened across Marks municipality. In 2009 the women's team switched again, to Mark Basket, after Marks Kommun stepped in as a major sponsor.

Their one taste of the top flight came in the 2006/2007 season, when the women's side won promotion to Basketligan Dam. They finished seventh among twelve clubs in that debut campaign, good enough to reach the SM-slutspelet quarterfinals, where 08 Stockholm Human Rights beat them three games to none.

No league title has followed, and the Swedish Cup has stayed out of reach too. The team still trains and plays out of Kinna Idrottshall, working toward another run at promotion back to the division it touched only the once.
