Paderborn

In 2005–06 Paderborn played 60 games in the 2. Basketball-Bundesliga and lost none of them. The 60–0 season ended with promotion to the top flight, the second time the club had won the second tier; the first came in 1993–94, three years after the basketball department split from the parent club VBC 69 Paderborn and became Paderborn Baskets 91.

The first title came at a cost. Relegation in the mid-1990s took the club close to bankruptcy, and the years that followed were spent recovering. The money problems came back in 2012, when a deficit of €500,000 was cleared by an investment from Wilfried Finke.

From 2016 to 2023 the team played as Uni Baskets Paderborn, and it now carries a sponsor's name, Gartenzaun24 Baskets. Its colours are crimson, orange, navy blue and white. The nearest rivalry is with Phoenix Hagen, and the meeting is called the Westfalen-Derby.

Home games are played at the Sportzentrum Maspernplatz, a hall with room for about 3,040 spectators.
