Quimsa play in the Liga Nacional de Básquetbol. In 2024 they also won the Súper 20, a tournament they had taken in 2018 and 2020.
At home the club has won the league twice, in 2014–15 and 2022–23. All of it has been built in Santiago del Estero, in the 4,300-seat Estadio Ciudad de Santiago del Estero.
The first trophies came in 2009. That year Quimsa won both the Copa Argentina and the Liga Sudamericana de Clubes, the South American club championship.
The club began as a merger of three local sides, Inti Club, Estudiantes Unidos and Santiago BBC, which joined on 13 August 1989. The name comes from the Quechua word kimsa , "three", and the nickname, Fusión, refers to the same merger.
