Tres Cantos

Tres Cantos began as part of Colmenar Viejo. When the town broke away and became its own municipality in 1991, a basketball club appeared the same year, so the club is as old as the town's independence. Locals call the team Tricantino, after the demonym for the town's residents.

The purple was not there from the start. The club took it as its definitive colour after the 2002/03 season, when the women's team disappeared and the club adopted the name it carries now.

Most of the work goes on below the first team. The club runs more than 35 teams and over 400 players, and its youth academy is spoken of as one of the strongest in Madrid. It also hosts the Memorial Pablo Barbadillo, an international tournament for pre-infantil sides. Its own Pre-infantil A team took bronze there.

The senior team plays at the Pabellón Municipal de la Luz, which holds about 1,800 people. It competes in the Tercera FEB, the old Liga EBA and the fourth tier of Spanish basketball. In February 2026 it was leading its group. The senior side has not yet won a league or cup title, and the medals so far belong to the youth teams.
