AFC Eskilstuna

AFC Eskilstuna is playing in Ettan Norra after relegation from Superettan in 2023.

The club did not start out in Eskilstuna at all. It was founded in 2007 in Stockholm as Athletic FC, merged with FC Väsby United in 2012 to form AFC United, and only in 2017 relocated to Eskilstuna and took the name it carries now. Promotion arrived twice on the way up: Division 1 Norra in 2014, then a runners-up finish in Superettan in 2016 that sent the club into Allsvenskan for the first time. Both spells at the top ended in relegation, in 2017 and again in 2019.

2019 also produced the club's best cup run, a Svenska Cupen final lost to BK Häcken. Ismet Lushaku, who came through the youth academy, made his Allsvenskan debut for the club during that period.

Matches are played at Tunavallen , and the fixture against IFK Eskilstuna is billed locally as the Eskilstuna derby. The supporter group calls itself Tisdagsklubben, the Tuesday Club. Below the first team, the academy has had recent success of its own, winning the Gothia Cup in the B17 age group in 2022 and the P17 group in 2024.
