Panadura Sports Club

The pale pink shirts gave the side its name, The Pinkies — that arrived only in the 1988–89 season, followed by List A cricket in 1991–92.

The club's best spell came in successive years: runner-up in the Premier Trophy in 2008, losing the final to Sinhalese Sports Club, then runner-up again in the Premier Limited Overs Tournament in 2009. Below that level, a Lakspray Trophy win in 1987 and a Donovan Andree Trophy win in 1998/99 mark the club's other finals.

What Panadura has done more consistently than win trophies is produce players for Sri Lanka. Dilruwan Perera came through the club and went on to hold Sri Lankan records for first-class runs and wickets; Ravindra Pushpakumara, another product of the same nursery, was part of the country's 1996 World Cup-winning squad. Much of that production line is credited to one man: Neil Perera served as club secretary for 77 years, from 1948, overseeing the development of the talent that followed.

Colombo Cricket Club provides the club's fiercest domestic contest, though the fixture carries no separate name of its own.
