Christian Gabriel Oliva Giménez

Christian Oliva's career has run through more countries than most players manage in a lifetime, without ever quite settling anywhere for long. He started out at Nacional in Montevideo, and by April 2018 the club had already extended his contract to 2020 — a sign of how quickly he was rated at home.

That promise took him to Europe within a year. In January 2019 Cagliari signed him from Nacional on a deal that included an obligation to buy, a structure Italian clubs use when they are confident a player will stick. He spent the following seasons in Sardinia, with one interruption: a loan to Valencia for the second half of the 2020/21 season, where he made nine appearances in La Liga.

The path then turned towards South America again, via Talleres in Argentina and a loan to Juárez in Mexico for the 2023/24 campaign, where he played ten matches. By January 2024 he was back at Nacional, the club where it had all started, and stayed for two seasons.

In February 2026 Oliva moved to Brazil, signing a three-year contract with Santos. He has featured regularly in the Série A since, with fifteen to sixteen appearances and two assists so far, though he has yet to open his scoring account there.

His honours list is built entirely on his time with Nacional, where he won the Uruguayan league title and the Supercopa Uruguaya.
