João Felipe Schmidt Urbano

João Felipe Schmidt Urbano started out at São Paulo, coming through to the first team in 2012 and staying with the club for five years. A loan spell took him to Portugal with Vitória de Setúbal before Atalanta signed him from Brazil in 2017, a move that put him in Serie A. Another loan followed, this time to Rio Ave, before he left Europe altogether for Japan in 2019.

That switch to Nagoya Grampus turned into the most productive stretch of his career. He moved on to Kawasaki Frontale in 2021 and won the J1 League title the same year, adding the Japanese Super Cup soon after and the Emperor's Cup in 2023. Four years in Japanese football left him with a domestic honours collection most of his generation at São Paulo never matched.

He returned to Brazil in 2024, signing for Santos and playing as a defensive midfielder. The comeback yielded a Série B title with the club that same year, and he was later named in the state championship's team of the tournament. His medal collection also stretches back to his youth days, when he won the Copa São Paulo with the junior side in 2010 and lifted the Copa Sudamericana in 2012, before winning the Toulon Tournament with Brazil's under-20 side in 2013.
