Manchester City lodge appeal in Premier League financial case
Manchester City have appealed against the independent commission verdict in the Premier League financial rules case, saying the decision is unsafe and contains material errors.

About the player
Río came through the Danubio academy and waited some time for a competitive debut. It arrived on 20 February 2024 in the Copa Uruguay against La Luz, a match Danubio won 1–0. Across 2024 he made six league appearances and one in the cup, conceding seven goals in the league.
Río was in the Uruguay squad at the 2019 South American U-15 Championship in Paraguay, under Diego Demarco and Gonzalo Noguera. He later worked as a sparring partner with the U20 side under Diego Alonso; a serious shoulder injury kept him out of Marcelo Broli's U20 group and he played no official tournament at that level. He has no senior caps.
In July 2025 he joined Montevideo Wanderers on loan from Danubio. He wears number 12.
