AKM-Junior has never gone further than eighth twice, then sixth, then fifth in the Silver Division of the Major Junior Hockey League (MHL).

The coaching bench has not sat still. Alexey Khramtsov, Dmitry Evstigneev and Sergei Morgunov have all had the job since the club started, and Alexander Trofimov took over in late 2025.

One fixture stands apart from the rest of the calendar: the Governor's Cup of the Tula Region, where AKM-Junior regularly meets its sister club, Akademija Mihajlova, in what is known locally as the Club Derby.

The academy's most useful export so far is Ivan Alekseev, top scorer in the 2022/23 season, who moved up to the senior AKM roster before continuing his career at Gomel in Belarus.

The team was set up in July 2021 by the B.P. Mikhailov Tula Hockey Academy as a feeder side for AKM, and it took its first steps far from home: registered that season in the National Junior Hockey League, it played out of Novomoskovsk's Ice Palace Yubileyny before the move to Tula and promotion to the MHL followed a year later.
