BST Galaxy

Bijilo sits on the Atlantic coast of Gambia, close enough to Banjul to feel the capital's pull, and for years its footballing identity ran through a company side, Dibba Oil FC, registered further inland in Jarra West. That changed in October 2022, when former player Bubacarr Steve Trawally bought the club and renamed it BST Galaxy, shifting its base to Bijilo in the process.

The new ownership did not waste time. In its first season under the BST Galaxy name, the club won the GFA League Second Division in 2023 and went up to the Premier Division, the top flight of Gambian football. That promotion is the only honour listed for the club so far.

Home games are played some distance from Bijilo itself, at the Brikama Box-Bar Mini Stadium, a compact ground holding around 2,000. The club plays in red and white.

Trawally remains the man most closely tied to BST Galaxy — the former footballer whose purchase of a struggling company team gave Bijilo a club carrying its own name.
