Cariari Pococi

The one trophy that matters in Cariari Pococí's history came in the 2014/15 season, when the club topped Segunda División de Costa Rica. It was not the first time the town had celebrated a championship. Under an earlier name, Banamola Pococí, the same institution had already won the Tercera División in 1991/92, back when the club was still finding its level in the Costa Rican pyramid.

The team plays out of Cariari, a district in the canton of Pococí, in Limón province, and has done since 1972. Home matches are played at Estadio Comunal de Cariari, a ground that holds 1,200 people — modest even by second-division standards.

Cariari Pococí's colours have shifted over the decades. The earliest kit was white and light blue, a nod to Argentina's national team, before the club settled into blue and garnet, the combination associated with Barcelona. The blue has since deepened into a royal shade, paired with garnet as the club's identity today.

By 2026 the club is back in Segunda División. No rivalry has attached itself to the club in any lasting way, though matches against sides such as Municipal Turrialba and AD Aserrí recur on the second-division calendar. What has stayed constant is Cariari itself — a district that has kept its own team through two different names and both of its championships.
