Cuiabá U20

The junior side that carries Cuiabá's name into the state's youth competitions is chasing its first Campeonato Mato-Grossense Sub-20 title of the new cycle, having taken the crown in 2023. The Sub-20s train and play at CT Manoel Dresch, a facility opened in 2024 with three full-sized pitches.

The category exists to feed the first team, and it has done that job at least twice in ways worth naming. Vinícius Boff came through the ranks, was central to the club's Aspirants Championship win in 2022, and was in the Série A squad that same year. Kauan Cristtyan finished 2024 as the leading scorer across the youth categories and had done enough by 2025 to be sent out on loan to América-MG.

None of the CBF's national Sub-20 competitions have gone Cuiabá's way — not the Brasileiro Sub-20, not the Copa do Brasil Sub-20, not the Copa São Paulo. The trophies sit at state level: the Mato-Grossense Sub-20 in 2023, and Copa Verde titles at Sub-16 and Sub-17 that predate it. What the age group is really measured against locally is the senior team's own record, Copa Verde winners in 2015 and 2019 and now an established Série A side, and against that the Sub-20s are judged less on cups than on who they send upstairs.

Boff remains the name attached to the category's best-known moment, the one who went from the 2022 Aspirants side straight into a Série A matchday squad.
