Lambton Jaffas

Lambton took the premiership — the regular-season title — in 2021 and 2023, and in that second year added the Grand Final to it. The State Cup followed in 2024, the Charity Shield in 2025.

The club spent the 1990s and 2000s in the Second Division, where it won Grand Finals in 1990, 1997 and 1998 without going up.

The club began in 1957 as Lambton Soccer Club, a suburban side in Newcastle's western reaches. Jaffas was a nickname before it was a name; it went onto the letterhead in 1978. The colours it referred to were yellow and brown, and they stayed that way until 2018, when the club changed to gold and black.

Arthur Edden Oval holds 2000, which is enough for a normal Saturday and not enough for the occasions the club has manufactured for itself. Twice — in 2016 and again in 2024 — Lambton have clawed their way through the Australia Cup qualifying rounds to the Round of 32, the stage where the A-League sides enter and a suburban ground in Newcastle finds itself hosting professionals.
