Morrinhos

Share a city with América Futebol Clube and the comparison writes itself: América has carried the name since 1937 and still holds a state championship from 1957. Founded in 1982, Morrinhos plays under a different banner — green, red and white — Tricolor dos Pomares.

The trophy case reflects a club built at a lower tier and comfortable there. Morrinhos won the Campeonato Goiano's Segunda Divisão in 2009. In 2021 the club came within one place of a step up, finishing runner-up in the Divisão de Acesso behind Goiatuba.

Its clearest export carries the name Luvannor. He played up front for Morrinhos in 2010 and 2011 before his career took an unlikely turn abroad: Moldovan citizenship, a place in Moldova's national side, and a scoring title in the Moldovan league with Sheriff, followed by spells in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Diego Ceará wore the shirt in 2019 on his own way up, and went on to finish as top scorer of the Campeonato Paraibano in 2025.

Home games are played at the Estádio do Centro Esportivo João Vilela, which holds 5,040. Morrinhos now sits in the Campeonato Goiano - Segunda Divisão, still chasing the promotion that eluded it in 2021.
