HV71 Women

The men's teams in Jönköping saw no reason to field a women's side, so in March 2002 a group built one anyway, calling it Jönköpings IF Queens rather than waiting for HV71 or HC Dalen to change their minds. In April 2008, HV71's annual meeting voted to absorb the club, and from that August the team carried the name HV71 Queens. The "Queens" tag lasted until the side reached the top-tier league in March 2012, when it was dropped in favour of simply HV71.

The club plays under the men's badge, never having had one of its own, in blue, yellow and white — colours that give the team its nickname, HV Blå. Home games are at Husqvarna Garden, which holds 7,000 for hockey.

The closest the club has come to a title was 2019/2020: top of the regular season and a game up in the final against Luleå HF/MSSK when the coronavirus pandemic ended the campaign, and the Swedish Ice Hockey Association named no champion that year. Two seasons later HV71 reached the final again, this time losing outright to Djurgårdens IF.

Twenty years on from Jönköpings IF Queens, an SM-guld is still the one thing missing from the club's history.
