Skellefteå AIK Women

Skellefteå AIK's women's side existed for six seasons before money ran out. When the Riksserien formed as a new national league, the costs of competing in it proved too much; a separate body, Skellefteå Damhockey, tried to raise funds to keep the team going and failed, and the club folded in 2008.

It took until 2017 for the team to come back, and it came back at the bottom, in Damettan. The breakthrough came only in the qualification playoffs that followed the 2023–24 season, where Skellefteå beat AIK to reach the SDHL for 2024/2025.

Laura Lerchová's 108 points in 110 games sit at the top of the club's scoring lists from those rebuilding years, and Miranda Dahlgren has been the team's goalkeeper since the 2017 restart, long enough to have started in Damettan and finished in the SDHL. Skellefteå Kraft Arena, holding 5,801, has been the team's home throughout, and the black-and-yellow colours give the side its nickname, Svartgult.

The men's team has taken the Swedish championship four times, most recently in 2026. The women's side, in its first season in the SDHL, has yet to reach a final for any medal at all.
