Operário-PR secured a 2:1 victory against Londrina in the 26th round of Brazil's Serie B on Sunday. The away side overturned an early deficit to take all three points at the Estádio Olímpico. Londrina had taken the lead inside four minutes before the visitors turned the game around in the second half.
Hildeberto Pereira gave the visitors the lead with a goal in the fourth minute. Gilberto equalised from the penalty spot in the 78th minute after a foul in the box. Gabriel Boschilia then struck in stoppage time to complete the turnaround. Three yellow cards flew in the 22nd minute, with Maguinho, Gilberto and Hildeberto Pereira all cautioned.
Londrina dominated possession at 58 per cent but failed to convert their advantage into goals. The hosts registered five shots on target and created two big chances, yet their expected goals total of 1.94 did not translate into victory. Operário-PR, with just 42 per cent possession, generated 2.85 xG and were more clinical with their opportunities.
The match saw a flurry of bookings in the second half. Yellow cards for Joseph, Ángel Torres and Thalis Henrique Cantanhede arrived around the 69th minute. Both sides made several substitutions after the hour, with Londrina bringing on Joao Coni and Hildeberto Pereira among others. The visitors also changed personnel, removing Ángel Torres for another player late on.
The result leaves Londrina in 18th place with 22 points from 26 matches. Operário-PR move up to seventh with 40 points, building a comfortable gap above the drop zone. The visitors had drawn their previous two matches before finding a way through this time.
