RC Toulon — Vannes: 28:10, Top 14

Toulon beat Vannes 21-10 in the Top 14 on Saturday evening, 26 September 2026. The hosts finally registered a win after three defeats, while Vannes remain winless through their opening three fixtures. Both sides enter their fourth round having lost every game so far.

The result keeps Toulon in 13th place on three points, one ahead of Vannes who sit bottom with zero. Three points separates them at the foot of the table, and neither side has shown enough to climb out of that position yet. By then, the gap between them might look smaller.

We had backed the home side at 80 per cent confidence, and the prediction held. Toulon controlled the tempo and scored enough to see out the game without chasing. And here's the thing — they didn't need a miracle, just a clean set of minutes.

Recent form tells the same story for both clubs. Toulon lost 27-29 to Castres, 20-21 to Rochelais and 26-27 to Bayonne in their previous outings. Vannes dropped 23-29 to Toulouse, 12-26 to Montpellier and 20-29 to Castres. Neither side has found a way to stop the bleeding.

What matters now is whether this result changes anything. Toulon have something to build on, even if it is only one game. Vannes have nothing to lose and everything to prove if they want to avoid the relegation battle from day one.
