Vojvodina secured a 2-1 victory over Zemun in the eighth round of the Super Liga on Saturday evening. The home side recovered from an early deficit to claim three points at their own ground.
Meski gave Zemun the lead in the ninth minute, catching the home defence before it had settled. To be fair, the visitors looked more dangerous in those opening exchanges, pressing higher when the hosts were still feeling their way.
Mulahusejnović equalised in the twenty-eighth minute, bringing the crowd into the game. Vojvodina had the ball more, but it was a moment of precision that mattered — a cross, a touch, and the ball in the net. By then the match had shifted on its axis.
The decisive strike came in the seventy-first minute when Kokanović finished off a swift move. He was substituted shortly after, and so was Mulahusejnović, both brought off while the result was safe. Zemun made changes too, but they had nothing left to play for.
The statistics told a familiar story. Vojvodina held 70 per cent of possession and registered 23 shots, nine on target, yet their efficiency was poor — 0.31 accuracy. Zemun, with just 30 per cent and six shots, maintained 0.63 accuracy. Both sides created two big chances, but only Vojvodina's were converted. The hosts won 43 aerial duels to Zemun's 43, but Zemun claimed 23 of theirs compared to Vojvodina's 20.
The result leaves Vojvodina second on 18 points from eight games, while Zemun remain bottom with just one point from a winless run that has now stretched to eight matches.
