The women's section was formed on 5 September 1974, and the first league title came in 1979/80, the second the season after. Through the 1980s Czarni were rarely off the top, and between 1996/97 and 1999/00 they took four championships in a row, adding the Cup of Poland in each of those seasons.
Then the trophies stopped for two decades. The team stayed in the Ekstraliga and reached three consecutive cup finals — 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20 — but did not win any, before finally taking both the league and the cup in 2020/21. The cup was retained the following year.
