Club Italia Women

Serie A2 pulls Parma into a division where rivalries run more on geography than history, and WiMORE Energy Volley's own identity was drawn up in deliberate contrast to the city's other volleyball name: Club Italia, the federal youth project the Italian Volleyball Federation moved from Rome into Parma's own PalaRaschi. Sharing a hall with a national development squad, rather than a local rival, has shaped the club's sense of itself as the city's genuine, home-grown side.

The nickname Tigri Blu comes straight out of the yellow-and-blue kit, gialloblù being Parma's civic colours across its sports clubs. PalaRaschi holds 3,000, modest against the top flight but standard for Serie A2.

The club took shape in 2001 under Francesco Ughetti, at a time when Parma's football club was still riding the wealth of the Tanzi era and volleyball in the city had no equivalent standing. Ughetti built Energy Volley from that gap, without silverware to show for it since, and the current WiMORE sponsorship name sits on top of a project that has stayed, from the start, a Serie A2 institution rather than a chase for the top division.
