Altino Women

Altino Volley go into the season in Serie A2, readmitted in 2025 after taking over Castelfranco's spot. The first test came in the Coppa Italia A2 Women, where Altino beat Offanengo 3-0 and reached the quarterfinals for the first time in the club's history, before Costa Volpino ended the run 0-3.

Getting here took two decades of climbing. Founded in 2003 in Altino, a small town in the province of Chieti, the club worked its way up from the regional divisions one promotion at a time, through Serie D, Serie C, Serie B2 and Serie B1, reaching Serie A2 for the first time in 2020-21. Home matches are played some distance from Altino itself, at PalaBCC in Vasto, in front of a maximum crowd of 1,700.

The club has built its identity around developing young Italian players rather than chasing results with the market, feeding talent through the Club Italia project. That approach carries a rivalry with Futura Volley Teramo, the derby d'Abruzzo, fought between the region's two clubs pushing to establish themselves in the higher divisions.

The name most associated with that project is Amélie Vighetto, born in 2006 and already capped by the Italian national team, who joined Altino in 2024 and used the season there as the step before moving up to Talmassons in Serie A1.
