Roma Women

The Giallorosse grew out of a 2013 merger of three local sides, G.S. Divino Amore, A.P.D. Palocco and A.P.D. San Paolo Ostiense, brought together under the name Volley Group Roma. Sponsorship has since rewritten the name on the shirt more than once, and the club now competes as SMI Roma Volley in Serie A1, Italy's top flight.

The colours have stayed constant through every rebrand: golden yellow and crimson red, worn in two horizontal bands, the pairing behind the Giallorosse nickname. Across town, Assitec Volleyball Sant'Elia provides the sharpest test on the calendar, the derby laziale, a fixture that carries its own weight regardless of league position.

Silverware has arrived only recently but from more than one direction. The club won the Coppa Italia di Serie A2 in 2023, then reached beyond domestic competition altogether, lifting the WEVZA Cup in 2024 and the CEV Challenge Cup in 2025, a European title that few Italian clubs outside the traditional powers manage to bring home.

Celeste Plak's arrival from the Netherlands raised the profile of a squad still building its European pedigree, a marquee signing for a club whose continental run had already announced itself. She joined a group built largely around Italian players, with Claudia Provaroni among the names who have carried the shirt through the club's climb toward the top division.
