UYBA Busto Arsizio Women

UYBA Busto Arsizio go into the season measured against Novara. The two sides are separated by little more than the width of the Ticino river.

The team traces back to 1997, when US Cistellum Volley moved from Cislago to Busto Arsizio; relegation three years later pushed the operation to restart under Yamamay's backing as Futura Volley Busto Arsizio. Locally the players are Le Farfalle, the Butterflies, and they take the court in white and red.

The single season that still gets talked about is 2011–12, when Busto Arsizio won the Italian championship, the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana in the same year. The CEV Cup has been kinder over time, won in 2010, again in that same 2012 season, and once more in 2019. A Champions League final four appearance followed in 2014–15, when Busto Arsizio finished runners-up, with a bronze medal in the competition two years before that.

Among the players who have worn the shirt, home matches are played in front of just under 4,500 seats, a ground that has housed the team since the move from Cislago and gives the away end little room to hide.
