Trentino Women

Sanbàpolis holds 600 people, a fraction of the 4,300-plus seats at the BLM Group Arena across town, where Trento's men play. It suits a team that only came into being on 6 June 2022, when the men's club bought the Serie A2 playing rights from Trentino Rosa, the side Roberto Postal had founded back in 2008.

That deal meant the new team, known as the Gialloblù for its yellow and blue colours, skipped the lower tiers entirely and started life in the second division. It did not take long to make the jump count: in its first season, 2022-23, Trentino Women won the Serie A2 promotion playoffs, beating Volley Millenium Brescia in the final to reach Serie A1 for 2023-24.

Serie A1 proved a hard landing. The team finished bottom of the table and went straight back down to Serie A2, where it has stayed since. There have been near misses rather than trophies: in the 2024-25 Coppa Italia A2, Trentino reached the final only to lose 3-0 to Omag-MT San Giovanni in Marignano. This season's cup run ended sooner, a straight 3-0 defeat to Cda Volley Talmassons Fvg in the quarter-finals in December 2025.

Four seasons in, the club is still searching for its first senior title, working out of a small arena built for a squad still finding its level in Serie A2.
