Costa Volpino Women

Costa Volpino spent 2025-2026 winning things it had never won before. In February 2026 the club beat CDA Talmassons FVG 1-3 in the final of the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa A2 — a first major trophy for a women's section that did not exist a decade earlier. Men's volleyball had run at the Polisportiva comunale di Costa Volpino since 1982; the women's team was only formed in 2015, through a partnership with Arcobaleno Volley, after 27 years in which the club had fielded men only.

The promotion that made the cup run possible came in May 2023, when Costa Volpino won the Serie B1 playoff final against Parella of Turin. Staying in Serie A2 then took more than results on court: in spring 2024 the club bought the sports rights from Cuneo Granda to hold its place in the division after relegation threatened to end the project almost as soon as it began. By the following season the group finished top of Girone A with 13 wins from the regular season.

Nicole Gamba, the libero, was part of the side that lifted the Coppa Italia, while Francesca Dell'Orto, born in 2003 and raised through the club's own academy, has become its captain.

Matches against Banca Valsabbina Millenium Brescia carry the weight of a local rivalry the two clubs call a derby lombardo, close enough in geography that fixtures are sometimes staged at PalaGeorge in Montichiari rather than at either side's own ground. Costa Volpino's own home, Pala CBL, holds 1,000 spectators — modest compared with the venue borrowed for the derby, but the setting for a season that gave the club, in white and pink, its first cup.
