Forde Women

Førde's women won the Norwegian championship in 2026, their third national title and the first since 2019. The first had come in 2018, and it was the first women's championship the club had ever won. A year later the men won too, and Førde took both titles in the same season.

The sport reached the town in 1969, when Herman Johansen introduced volleyball at Førde Gymnas, the local upper secondary school. The club followed on 18 September 1974 under the name Førde intervolley, and it was renamed later. The team now plays in Øyrane Arena, inside the new Førde vidaregåande skule, which opened in the summer of 2023. Volleyball there began in a school and is played in one today.

The men's side has the longer record: six national titles between 2007 and 2021, the last three in successive years from 2019. The club has also played in Europe, in the 2013–14 CEV Challenge Cup and the 2018–19 CEV Cup. The kit is blue from top to bottom, shirt and shorts alike.

The men's last title, in 2021, was the third of that run, and they have not added another since.
