UVC Graz sits in the Austrian Volley League on the men's side and the 1. Bundesliga Damen on the women's.

The club did not grow out of a single dressing room. In 2002, on the initiative of Siegfried Nagl, two established Graz sides merged: the women of ATSE Graz Volleyball and the men of VC Wesser Graz, brought together under one union banner. That merger is why the men's team was known for a time as UVC Wesser Graz before the sponsor name changed again to UVC Holding Graz.

The women's side produced the club's most striking result. Their 2018 championship broke a run of 24 consecutive titles held by SG SVS/Post. They added the domestic cup in the same year, having already taken it in 2017. The men have built their own record with cup wins in 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2020, and finally reached the top of the men's championship in 2021.

Rivalries run mostly within Austrian volleyball's small circle: Wiener Neustadt, Weiz, VBK Klagenfurt and hotVolleys among them.

Matches in black and white are played at the Bluebox Arena, on Kadettengasse.
