The Stadtwerke-Hartberg-Halle, which locals call the Hartberghalle, stands at the Bundesschulzentrum, the federal school centre. It is a building that serves a school campus and a town's events, and it holds anywhere from 300 to 4,000 people depending on the occasion. TSV Hartberg 2, in blue and white, play there in the 2. Bundesliga Ost, where VCU Wr. Neustadt and VBC Weiz are among the sides they have to get past.

The second team took the biggest prize in the club's volleyball history in the 2012/13 season. A side that sits below the first team won the Austrian Volleyball Cup, beating UVC Graz II 3:2 in a final.

Jürgen Rindler, born in 1986, is the name that links the second team to the running of the whole club. He played for it from 2000 to 2003 and came back for a spell in 2010. Four years later he became president of TSV Hartberg, a post he held until 2017.

The volleyball began in January 1985, when a section was set up inside a sports club that had existed in Hartberg since 1946.
