Olimpia took all three points at Estadio Günter Vogel on Sunday evening, beating San Lorenzo 3-0 in the Clausura stage 11 fixture. The visitors opened their account through Juan Vera's 33rd-minute strike before Gabriel Ávalos converted a penalty just before half-time. Rodney Redes added a third in the 87th minute to complete the victory.
Richard Ortiz came closest to an early advantage when he was brought down inside the penalty area at 45+4 minutes, but the referee pointed to the spot after VAR intervention. And here's the thing about this result — it extended San Lorenzo's misery. They had lost five consecutive matches, including defeats to Sportivo Ameliano, Dos de Mayo, Rubio Ñu, Nacional Asunción and Libertad Asunción. Olimpia, meanwhile, had won their previous outing 3-0 against Sportivo Luqueño and looked comfortable in front of goal.
