Queluz's basketball team trains and plays in a school hall in the Sintra area, the Pavilhão Escola Ruy Belo Monte Abrão.

Clube Atlético de Queluz, known as Os Queluzenses, was founded on 5 June 1933 and plays in orange and black. Its major honours fall into two spells 21 years apart, and the two follow the same order. In 1982–83 the club won the Portuguese Cup. It took the league title the next season, 1983–84, and added the Portuguese Super Cup in 1984. Nothing more followed for two decades.

In 2004–05 the cup and the league title both came in the same season, and the Super Cup followed in 2005. The league title carried Queluz into the EuroCup for 2005–06.

After that the club dropped down the national pyramid. In 2023–24 it won the Proliga, the second division, and so put itself back within reach of the top flight it last won in 2005.
