Cento

When Cento retired the number 5 shirt in 2019, it was Lorenzo Facchini's. The club had by then been through a bankruptcy and a rebuild.

That entity ended in 2007, when the club went bankrupt and sold its sporting rights to Modena. The current club is ASD Benedetto XIV 2011, refounded in 2011 after the town had spent four seasons without its team. The club had been founded in 1964. In 2012 Cento won Divisione Nazionale C, and in 2018 it won the Serie B playoffs, which took it into Serie A2 for the first time.

The Coppa Italia is the competition Cento has come closest to winning without winning. It has reached the final four times, in 2012, 2015, 2018 and 2023, and lost each one.

The names on the shirts changed with the sponsors: Tramec Cento from 2011 to 2021, Sella Cento since. Some of the players kept coming back. Giovanni Gasparin, a veteran guard, returned for 2020–21. Nongo Iris Ikangi played in 2013–14 while a member of the Italy under-20 side.

The nearest games are against Ferrara Basket, counted as a derby. The bigger one is with Fortitudo Bologna, the Derby Emiliano. In 2022–23 Cento finished second in the Serie A2 Girone Rosso and went out in the playoff quarter-finals. Its home is the 2,000-seat Baltur Arena.
