Fjolnir Women

Dalhús sits in Grafarvogur. Fjölnir Women play there because the club was built around the district: Ungmennafélagið Fjölnir is a multi-sport society.

The women's side reached the top flight in 2007, the year it won the second division for the first time. It won that division again in 2010, and later took two more titles in a row, in 2019 and 2020. The second of those seasons was cancelled because of the pandemic, so the title and the promotion came without a final table being played out. Fjölnir went up and made an immediate mark. In 2020–21 they finished fourth in the regular season and reached the playoff semi-finals.

The individual honours tell where the club's strength lay. Bergþóra Tómasdóttir was named Domestic Player of the Year in 2011, and Dagný Lísa Davíðsdóttir took the same award in 2022. Both came through a club that has never won the league or the cup.

In April 2024, eight Fjölnir players were picked for the final squads of Iceland's U15 and U20 teams. That same year, financial difficulties and a shortage of senior players led the club to withdraw its women's team from the Subway-deild kvenna for 2024/25. Fjölnir had not been relegated.

Valur are the opponent the club has met most often in the biggest games. They are the side that ended the 2020–21 run in the semi-finals, and the two have faced each other in the playoffs. Basketball has no named derby in the city.
