Keflavik Women

Keflavík went into the Icelandic season as the reigning double winner.

The club started out in 1974 as ÍBK, and it took two decades before the name changed to Keflavík in 1994. Locally the team is known as the Keflavík Express, though the players go by another nickname too, tied to the arena they play in: TM Arena carries the name Sláturhúsið, "the Slaughterhouse," and the team has picked up the mirrored tag of "the Little Butchers" from it.

Birna Valgarðsdóttir's run of nine appearances on the league's All-First Team marks her out among those who have worn the shirt, and Sigurður Ingimundarson, named Coach of the Year four times, is the figure most associated with steering the club through its most decorated stretches. Pálína Gunnlaugsdóttir and Anna María Sveinsdóttir both picked up the domestic Player of the Year award multiple times over, Sveinsdóttir six times in total.

The arena itself holds 1,200, a capacity that has not grown to match what the team has won there, and continental basketball remains the one line still missing from a record built almost entirely on Icelandic silverware.
