Köping Stars

Third place in Swedish basketball's top flight came in a season nobody finished. In 2019–20 Köping Stars sat third in the Basketligan table when the pandemic cut the schedule short, and the bronze medal was awarded as it stood.

That climb ran fast. What is now Köping Basket began as Ullvi Basket BK in 2003, took its present name in 2017, and a year later put the men's senior side forward under the marketing name Köping Stars to give it a sharper identity as it pushed into the higher tiers. The Basketettan Södra title in 2016–17, then the Superettan championship the following season, which sent the club up into the Basketligan itself.

Home games are played at Köpings Bad & Sport in front of crowds that fill a room built for somewhere between thirteen hundred and eighteen hundred people, with dark blue on the home shirts and white on the away kit. The club has not reached an SM-guld or a Swedish Cup final, and rivalries have grown by proximity and recent fixtures rather than by old grievance — Norrköping Dolphins among them, met in the 2025 SM semi-finals.
