Nässjö Basket has come closest to a national trophy just once, in the 2023–24 season, when it reached the final of the Svenska Cupen and lost to Norrköping Dolphins. In the Basketligan itself the club's furthest run stopped at the semi-finals, in 2020–21.

The team began in 1939 under the name Nässjö Highlanders, a name it kept until 1997. Christer Sabel, a Swedish international, has a place on the club's Wall of Fame; Alexander Lindqvist, another international who won the Swedish championship twice elsewhere, is also tied to the club's history.

Green and white are the club colours. Matches against Borås Basket carry the weight of a derby, with Wetterbygden Stars the other regular rival.

Home games are played at Nässjö Sporthall, which holds 1,200.
