«Bulls»
The Kapfenberg Bulls' women's team plays in the Basketball Damen Zweite Liga, the Austrian second division, and is sometimes billed as Hefte Helfen Bulls Kapfenberg. Its home is the Sporthalle Walfersam, which seats 1,000.
The club began in 1976 in Aflenz, as the basketball section of the gymnastics club Turnverein Aflenz. For a decade it carried a savings bank's name: TV Sparkasse Aflenz, and alongside it Basketball Club Sparkasse Aflenz, from 1983 to 1993. It then became the BasketBears, a name it kept until 2004.
The move came in 1996. The club left Aflenz for Kapfenberg and became a branch of the sports association Kapfenberger Sportvereinigung. Five years later, it won the Austrian championship in 2001. The white and green colours have gone with it.
