Trelleborg

Västervångshallen sits on Virkesvägen, and it's where Trelleborg Pirates have made their home through several changes of name. The club started life in 1981 as Ratus, went through a spell as Trelleborg Bulldogs, and now plays under the Pirates banner and its skull emblem, competing in Superettan, the second tier of Swedish basketball.

American forward Mario Cooper gave the club six seasons, from 2016 to 2022. Guard Lou Jordan also left a mark across two spells, 2017–2019 and 2020–2021, picking up a Player of the Week award and an All-Swedish Superettan honourable mention along the way. Jeremy Lou now runs the team from the bench.

Being a Skåne club shapes the calendar as much as anything: fixtures against Malmö Ballers and Helsingborg BBK carry the weight of a regional derby.

Trelleborg have not lifted a Basketligan title or a Swedish Cup at senior level, but the pipeline is doing its job — the Pirates' 2011-born age group travelled to Copenhagen and won the BMS Herlev Cup in 2025.
