The Women's One-Day Cup is a professional List A cricket competition in England governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Established in 2025, it serves as a distinct 50-over tournament, aligning with the men's domestic structure while tracing its lineage to the Women's Area Championship founded in 1980. It stands alongside the T20 Blast as one of the two top-tier limited-overs competitions in the country, having replaced the previous Royal London Women's One-Day Cup structure.

The inaugural 2025 season featured eight teams competing in a single division. The format involved a round-robin league stage where each side played every other team, followed by a knockout phase comprising semi-finals and a final. Lancashire Women secured the first title by defeating Hampshire Women by six wickets in the championship match. While the current iteration focuses on county sides, the competition includes promotion and relegation between Division One and Division Two within the county hierarchy, though no movement occurs from lower-tier National Counties.

Sponsorship for the event is provided by Metro Bank. This structure differs notably from the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, which operates as a 40-over competition using a regional franchise model with multiple groups rather than a single league. Historically, Kent Women hold the record for success in the competition's predecessor eras, having won the Women's County Championship and Royal London One-Day Cup eight times. The current setup emphasizes a unified national league approach for the 50-over game.
