Copa Bicentenario (Peru) 2020/21

The Copa Bicentenario was a Peruvian domestic football cup competition organized by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF). Founded in 2019 to mark the bicentennial of Peruvian independence, the tournament operated until 2021. The 2020 and 2022 editions were cancelled due to the pandemic and subsequent league reforms before the competition was eventually replaced by the Copa de la Liga in 2025.

Distinct from the Peruvian Primera División (Liga 1), the Bicentenario was a knockout tournament played during the break between the Apertura and Clausura leagues. It featured clubs from both the first and second divisions, typically involving 30 teams. This structure served as a bridge between the top two tiers, allowing lower-division sides to compete against established top-flight teams for continental qualification spots.

The format evolved over its short history. The inaugural 2019 edition utilized a group stage based on geographic proximity, followed by a knockout phase. The 2021 edition was a shortened knockout tournament played entirely in Lima due to pandemic restrictions. Winners of the competition earned a place in the Copa Sudamericana and the Supercopa Peruana.

Atlético Grau secured victory in the first edition in 2019, defeating Sport Huancayo on penalties. Sporting Cristal claimed the title in the final 2021 edition by beating Carlos A. Mannucci. While the league system includes promotion and relegation between Liga 1, Liga 2, and the amateur Copa Perú, the Copa Bicentenario remained a standalone event focused on cup success rather than tier movement.
