Trindade and Morrinhos played out a 2:2 draw in the Goyano 2 Regular Season, Round 8 on Wednesday evening. The visitors had taken the lead twice before the hosts recovered each time, and the match ended with both sides having scored in the second half.
The visitors opened the scoring at the 54th minute, taking advantage of a period when Trindade were having nothing to do all evening. Morrinhos doubled their advantage at 71, but the home side responded immediately, pulling one back at 75 to keep the contest alive. By then the momentum had shifted, and Trindade equalised at 89 with a late strike to salvage a point.
The statistics tell their own story. Trindade dominated possession at 58 per cent and registered 106 attacks compared with 90 for the visitors, but their 10 shots off target suggest they wasted plenty of time in the final third. Morrinhos were more efficient in front of goal, hitting 4 targets from their efforts, while Trindade managed 5 on target. The home side accumulated 5 corners, the visitors 6, and there were 3 yellow cards for the hosts against 2 for the away team.
The result keeps Trindade rooted to 10th place with just 4 points from 8 games, a run of four draws and four defeats that has left them without a win. Morrinhos move further clear of trouble at 4th, sitting on 14 points from 9 matches with four victories. The clean-sheet run for neither side came to an end, and both teams now look ahead to the next fixture.
