Coritiba U20

Coritiba's youth setup grew up alongside the first team almost from the start, absorbing the club into Curitiba's football life since German immigrants put it together in 1909. Out of that base structure came a side built to feed the senior squad rather than to chase attention of its own.

2021 gave the age group its clearest mark, a Copa do Brasil Sub-20 title won against Botafogo. State honours have followed a similar pattern of return trips: the Campeonato Paranaense Sub-20 crown taken in 2012, then again in 2022 and 2023.

That pipeline has done its clearest work in transfer fees rather than trophies. Yan Couto left for Manchester City, Igor Paixão for Feyenoord, both sales built on years in Coritiba's youth categories before anyone outside Paraná had heard their names.

The rivalry the age group steps into is Atletiba, against Athletico Paranaense, a fixture that carries weight down through the categories long before players are old enough for the senior derby.
