Estádio Germano Krüger holds 10,632 and sits at the centre of a name the club wears with more pride than most: black and white vertical stripes on a ground built for a workers' side. Operário Ferroviário started as Operário Atlético Clube on 1 May 1912, founded by railway workers in Ponta Grossa, and took its current name in 1933 after a merger. The Ghost, as Ponta Grossa calls it, has a habit of appearing where it is not expected: in 2017 it won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, and the following year, Série C — back to back.

The state title has been kinder still. Operário took the Campeonato Paranaense in 2015, then again in 2025 and 2026. Below that sit smaller, older honours — the Taça FPF in 2016 and years of silverware in the Paranaense's second tier and interior competitions.

Dudu Mosconi made his senior debut in 2024; Matheus Galdino signed in 2023 and waited two years for his first appearance, in 2025. Iraty SC remains the fixture with the sharpest edge.

Operário has not established itself at the top of Brazilian football for any length of time.
