Legião Futebol Clube has won the Campeonato Brasiliense, the Federal District's top-flight title, twice: in 2017 and again in 2022.

The route began five years before that registration. In 2001 a social project called Legião de Craques was set up in Brasília. The professional club grew out of it and kept the name, shortened to Legião. The nickname Time dos Roqueiros , the Rockers' Team, nods to the Brasília band Legião Urbana, whose name the club shares in part. Supporters also call it Leão, the Lion.

The youth side has come close without finishing the job. In the Campeonato Brasiliense Sub-20 Legião reached the final twice and lost both times: in 2018 to Ceilândia, and in 2020 to Planaltina.

Legião plays in orange, with black and white trim on the home shirt and an all-white away kit. It owns no ground and borrows two in Brasília. The Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha holds around 68,000.
