CFZ Brasília U20

Brasília is the federal capital, and for a quarter of a century one of its football clubs carried the name of a player from Rio. Zico set up Centro Futebol Zico de Brasília in August 1999 as a branch of his academy, CFZ do Rio. In the capital the side was simply "O Time do Zico", or "Azulão" for the blue and white shirts.

The senior team's best moment came early. In 2002 it won the Campeonato Brasiliense, beating Gama in the final. Tiano was the top scorer that year. A second title followed in 2010, in the Segunda Divisão, the state's second tier.

The U20 side is the youth sector of that club. It plays in the Campeonato Brasiliense U20, known as the Candanguinho, and has never won it. Its closest attempt was in 2009, when it finished as runner-up.

The name has changed since. In 2025 the parent club became Candango Esporte Clube and moved its base to São Luís de Montes Belos, in Goiás. The colours changed from blue and white to red and black. The team still competes in the Federal District leagues, so the youth players still have to travel within the capital region. They have no single home ground and move between the Estádio Chapadinha, the Estádio Juscelino Kubitschek and, most often, the Estádio Maria de Lourdes Abadia in Ceilândia.

The local rivals are Brasília Futebol Clube, also known as Real Brasília, and Brasiliense. Both are clubs the Zico side had to get past in the capital's competitions.

The Ceilândia ground holds about 5,000.
