«Cobra de Caxias»
The Estádio Walmir Campelo Bezerra, known as the Bezerrão, holds 20,310 and belongs to the senior side.
The youth team is part of Sociedade Esportiva do Gama rather than a separate body. Its first junior title in the Campeonato Brasiliense de Juniores came in 1979. They won again in 2014 and 2019, and most recently in 2023.
Those years overlap with the club's high point. In 1998 Gama won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, its biggest national honour, and two of the men who carried that side came through the academy: the defender Gérson Vieira de Freitas and the left-back Rochinha. The state title then came in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001, and the 2001 season was unbeaten. Another academy product, the defender Emerson dos Santos Silva, born in 1983, later ran the youth school himself.
The senior team's 12 state titles are the most in the competition's history, and the youngsters carry the same green and white and the nickname Cobra de Caxias. The fixture they care most about is against Brasiliense Futebol Clube, the Clássico Verde-Amarelo. Before Brasiliense took that role, the main rival was Brasília Futebol Clube, in the Clássico Candango.
All of it traces back to 15 November 1975, when Hermínio Ferreira Neves, known as Tim, founded the club in Gama.
